MISSION: Optimize the health, development, education, and well-being of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers through a family-driven, equitable, community-based system of high-quality prenatal and early childhood programs and services.
The Early Childhood Education and Care Department was established on July 1, 2020. The Department's aim is to create a more cohesive, equitable, and effective early childhood system in New Mexico. That means coordinating a continuum of programs from prenatal to five¿and ensuring that families in every corner of the state can access the services they need.

This position will provide quality customer service to internal and external customers and provide administrative support to the Child Care Regional offices. This will include scheduling and coordinating appointments, meetings, training, facilities and other activities for the team. This position will research and maintain the office inventory supplies and office equipment for the region. This position will process financial documents, travel reimbursements, and maintain respective logs. They will serve as vehicle coordinator for the region by overseeing the preventative maintenance and repairs of vehicles, assign/rotate vehicles and process reports. This position may assist other clerical support staff in job responsibilities to include answering a multi-line telephone system; greeting and serving customers; processing and distributing mail; maintaining and organizing files and the filing system; maintaining program forms, spreadsheets and reports. Other administrative projects or duties as needed to support the regional offices.
This position requires strong customer service skills in a high volume, fast paced environment. Knowledge of/ability to learn processes, policies and requirements of completing requisitions, purchase and service requests and other financial spreadsheets and forms. This position also requires extensive use of computers/databases and the ability to multi-task. Ability to work independently in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in any field and two years of clerical or office administration experience in a social service or public assistance program. Will have knowledge of SHARE Financials or other related databases. Additional preferred experience includes: collaboration, team work, customer service, initiative, decision-making, organization, time-management, training/mentoring and good interpersonal skills.
High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required.
