Shuaiba Oxygen is a 50/50 joint venture established in Kuwait between Air Liquide Middle East and Kuwait Cryo in 2006. The joint venture is managed by Air Liquide and implements all industrial, operational and safety management systems used by the Air Liquide group.
The company is among the few companies formed under The Kuwait Direct Investment Public Authority (KDIPA).
Shuaiba Oxygen owns and operates an air separation unit (ASU) that produces oxygen, nitrogen, argon and dry compressed air under a long-term agreement with Equate Petrochemical Co., a world-scale petrochemical complex. Shuaiba Oxygen plant has a capacity of 1,500 tonnes/day of oxygen, which is considered one of the largest plants in the Middle East.
In addition, Shuaiba Oxygen is considered to be one of the largest private liquid argon producers in Gulf Cooperation Council. This gas is distributed throughout the Arabian Peninsula to meet the substantial needs of the steel and welding industries.
Shuaiba Oxygen is targeting the Large Industry sector in Kuwait and looking to grow through long-term supply contracts in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, and refining markets.
An Operations & Maintenance Engineer is a critical role in keeping a plant running smoothly. They are responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, ensuring everything functions as intended to meet production goals. Their expertise lies in instrumentation and control systems, allowing them to diagnose and fix problems that may arise. This role also requires collaboration with other on-site staff, regional specialists, and central maintenance teams to ensure efficient operations. But most importantly, they operate with a focus on safety, adhering to protocols and procedures to keep themselves, colleagues, and the entire plant environment safe.
