About the role

We have grown at a fast pace in recent years through acquisition and we are now searching for a highly-organised, innovative and results-driven Head of Shared Services to join a finance team going through a phase of change, to deliver and manage entire Shared Services function, incl transformation projects within the Group Finance Team.

This is a key role within our finance team, managing our entire Shared Services across Ireland, UK and Netherlands. The key goals are to enable us to merge multiple stand-alone entities, teams, processes and systems, into one group Shared Services structure, by streamlining and creating processes within and alongside our new ERP system implementation. This will be a challenging role in a fast paced environment, with no two days the same, but will enable you to take ownership and put your stamp on the full end to end process.

Head Of Shared Services

The day to day

  • Key support for Finance Director ensuring inputs to finance process are accurate & timely
  • Support the treasury functions by monitoring and optimizing cash flow within the group
  • Liaise closely with the Heads of Accounting
  • Assist FP&A with monthly analysis, reporting & forecast/budget preparation
  • Manage Procure to Pay (Purchase Order Creation, Accounts Payable, Intercompany, Travel & Expense Reporting)
  • Manage Order to Cash (Invoicing/Billing, Credit Management, Intercompany, Collections, Payment Application
  • Manage Group payroll function
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide proactive advice on items related to cost allocations and revenue recognition
  • Oversee the monthly close processes at an operational level for each unit through management of the Close Calendar and ongoing communication
  • Develop key relationships with customers – both internal and external
  • Identify and develop Shared Services priorities, driving an environment of continuous improvement, to increase overall efficiency and accuracy
  • Create and maintain procedures and standardised processes / controls for managing centre activities, capacity and service
  • Integrate existing & new acquisitions within the core finance team & Ekco finance systems in a timely & efficient manner
  • Stays abreast of changing regulations to be able to provide guidance and direction to teams and develops strategies to mitigate risk exposure and changing regulations
  • Manage the team, including recruitment and employee development
  • Liaise with Auditors & Tax on relevant matters
  • Update assigned models to accurately reflect requested changes to allocation rates and other business rules housed within the allocation models

About you

  • 5 years’ experience working in Management/Lead function, including remote working
  • Ability to lead and manage change including process improvements
  • Highly motivated self-starter with initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Responsible individual who takes ownership, makes recommendations and takes the lead on delivering efficiencies
  • Adaptable to a changing/fast paced working environment and comfortable with deadlines
  • Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Good business acumen and an ability to work across boundaries and cultures
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Experience of Netsuite or similar ERP system
