The Telenor Group Technology organization is looking for a VP Innovation, as part of the Research and Innovation team that is instrumental to our technology development in becoming a fully data and AI-driven telco. As an industry front runner, we explore and use leading telecommunication, cloud, and AI technologies to create solutions for modernizing our business, driving growth and impactful customer experience. Working across our Business Areas in the Nordics and Asia, our infrastructure and adjacent businesses, Group Technology and R&I team has a key role in enabling future growth models with global industry partners.
As Head of Innovation Unit in Telenor R&I, you will lead a team of research-minded data scientists and network engineers, driving change and creating value. You will be responsible for building innovation pipelines and accelerating innovation adoption in business jointly with our partners and Telenor business units.
We are looking for a techie who has a strong business mindset, experience with building software products and leading R&D teams, and a real passion for technology innovations in making organizations truly digital. To thrive and excel in this role, you should have a record of building value-generating technology innovations in industry. You are a transformative leader and a good coach, with capabilities of building innovation culture and driving change in organizations. You have hands-on experience in building software products and leading R&D teams in business (e.g., data science, AI teams), complemented by strong interpersonal skills.
We expect good communication skills, combined with a strong ability to collaborate, and build trust with colleagues and external stakeholders. You are sharing knowledge with others, capable of adapting to new challenges and learning fast, and demonstrating an ability to get things done.
You have higher education, preferably with a master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, physics, telecommunications, or similar.
