dunnhumby Norway AS is a joint venture between Coop Norge Handel AS and dunnhumby ltd. Based on the Customer First principle, we deliver customer insight and data-driven marketing for Coop and its suppliers.

We’re looking for Applied Data Scientist for Customer Engagement & Media workstream who will work as a part of our Solutions Team.

At dunnhumby our Customer Engagement & Media propositions help Coop and our CPG clients connect and improve every interaction they have with their customers to reward their loyalty, deliver personalised communications and experiences across seamless Customer journeys whilst connecting brands and retailers to customers, all with customer data at the centre. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your technical expertise and consulting skills in these areas and grow your retail experience, whilst shaping the future of Membership strategy, personalisation, CRM and Retail Media with Coop.

As an Applied Data Scientist, you will be responsible for executing projects to distil complex problems into compelling insights that resonate with clients, using the best of data science and analytics. You will be working towards delivering on our 1:1 customer personalisation work plan and supporting the development of one of the most engaging loyalty programs in Norway for Coop's 1.7 million members. You will work in close collaboration with our data science team in India and be a key contributor in driving engagement using rich customer and product data. The successful candidate will find pragmatic solutions to complex problems and discover business opportunities through scientific use of data. Understanding large amounts of data is important, so experience with databases or open-source software is an advantage. You will be seen as local data science and solutions point of contact working closely with the business side in Coop and the internal team in dunnhumby Norway while driving collaboration with data science team in India.

At dunnhumby, you will work in a world-leading retail data science company with specialist expertise in customer data, category development, campaign and price, customer communications and media. You will experience being part of a large international network, but at the same time work closely with Coop in a dynamic environment with opportunities to experiment and learn.

What do we need from you?

  • 3 to 4 years of work experience preferably within the retail industry, media agencies, consulting or banking/finance
  • Have experience working with Customer Experience, Media or CRM
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to create KPIs and interpret data into actionable insights
  • Experience with PYTHON, SPARK or other SQL-based programming
  • Knowledge of statistical inference and methods
  • Fluency in English language is a must. Norwegian language skills are beneficial
  • Strong academic record with a master's degree (preferred) in e.g. economics, statistics, mathematics or engineering
