Minimum qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Computer/Electronic Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience working in a consumer hardware Research and Development lab environment.
  • Experience working with third parties, schematics, or ball grid array (BGA) Machine/Equipment profiling.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Surface-mount technology (SMT), BGA rework, and wiring parts on a PCBA.
  • Experience in budget planning, supplier onboarding, and CM/factory collaboration.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams, vendors and suppliers for equipment purchases.
  • Experience in lab equipment management, inventory, calibration and maintenance as well as in any asset management tool.
  • Experience in fine pitch SMT rework IC’s, PQFN packages, small passive components (01005), as well as general lab support duties.
  • Ability to read board layouts and schematics using a third-party viewer.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment such as soldering station, BGA machine, microscope, meters, temp chambers, IR Gun, power supplies, electronic loads, DMM.
  • Manage and organize lab supplies and equipment calibration.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and safety.
  • Support design team with assembly/disassembly of prototype consumer devices.
  • Be the consultant for SMT/board rework modification, will be using equipment such as BGA rework machine, fine pitch soldering iron, microscopes, and hot air gun.
