What You'll Do

As a senior product designer on Mapbox’s automotive team, you will work with our OEMs, Mapbox engineers, and design colleagues to define the next generation of driver experiences for a global audience.

  • Research and define UX/UI strategy, contribute to the overall product and design direction from concept to implementation
  • Develop creative and innovative design solutions for Mapbox products that support various types of customers from different backgrounds and with different requirements
  • Constantly measure how designs are performing for target customers; iterate and improve those experiences as needed
  • Work in a highly collaborative fashion with engineers and other partners; invest in building relationships and trust with stakeholders and leaders
  • Present work to partners, stakeholders and senior leaders regularly
  • Define and share Mapbox UX/UI design standards and guidelines
  • Advocate for consistency across team members and partners 

What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role

  • 5+ years of experience designing interactive applications for mobile platforms
  • An excellent portfolio of shipped work showcasing user experience, information architecture design, visual design, and UI work with a strong design sensibility and excellent, user-centric storytelling
  • You are an expert in iOS/Android UX patterns and design techniques
  • Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights. Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative and driven by group critique
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-stress iterative design process under minimal supervision
