Job Description: 

The goal for a performance monitoring and optimizing engineer is to ensure the monitoring capabilities on Intel SOCs are of maximal use for performance engineers and software developers. The daily work for this job involves computer engineering, not developing software.

Platform Monitoring Engineers work on a wide variety of tasks, have many opportunities for growth and specialization, and collaborate extensively with a community both internal and external to Intel.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Pre-si co-design or post-si validation of PerfMon events,
  • Validation of Intel PMU features (such as Processor Event-Based Sampling) using software collectors,
  • Debugging HW Observation issues in Intel analysis tools,
  • Developing software infrastructure, tests, tools, and prototypes needed to support the above tasks.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications,

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position:

  • Current Bachelors or Master active student in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (remain as an active student for at least 1 year).
  • 6+ months of experience in scripting, maintaining, or coding software such as Python, C++ or Java.
  • Course experience with Computer Architecture
  • Advanced English level.
  • Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico.

Preferred qualifications,

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates:

  • 6+ months of experience in performance analysis, performance validation or performance optimization experience.

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
