Purpose
CCTV Operators are mainly responsible for operating and maintaining surveillance equipment, watching both live and recorded video surveillance footage, reporting incidents or suspicious behavior and contacting the authorities when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
CCTV Operators will perform the following duties:
- To accurately record all events and actions monitored from within the control room, including the maintenance of daily logs.
- To operate, monitor and prioritize the use of CCTV cameras within the control room in a proactive/reactive manner, to maintain a safe environment for the employees.
- To communicate with the security officer/security assistants by various communication systems to ensure the most appropriate and effective use of the CCTV system. To be contactable throughout the shift.
- To process digital viewing requests from other departments after getting concerned department approval and issue evidence packs to the authorized department for evidence purposes.
- Occasional office cleaning (because of secure environment), screen, cameras and console cleaning
- Other duties that may be required from time to time.
- Ability to work and concentrate under pressure and cope with incidents calmly
- CCTV Room entry register maintenance.
- Help in investigations by reviewing CCTV footage.
- CCTV Operator will contact through Walkie Talkie sets/Extension and Mobile available to Outposts, in case of any immediate action.
- The CCTV Operators will inform security team for catering visitors/vendors and interviewees after receiving email on distro of CCTV Control Room and landline Extension which are operational 24/7.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Matric or Equivalent
- Experience of working with security systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – the ability to work with a wide variety or people
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to assess and react quickly to situations as they unfold
- Ability to maintain accurate reports and records
- Basic level MS word, excel
- Age limit should not less than 25 yrs.
- Medical Category should be AYE.
