Function Overview

The Digital and Technology team at General Mills stands as the largest and foremost unit, dedicated to exploring the latest trends and innovations in technology while leading the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the organization. Collaborating closely with global business teams, the focus is on understanding business models and identifying opportunities to leverage technology for increased efficiency and disruption. Purpose of the role

This role will perform Lead Engineer role in the newly formed Palantir Foundry CoE , responsible for providing deep Foundry expertise to project teams , setting up standards, best practices, Governance to fast track Foundry implementation in General Mills

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Create Ontology standards, access controls, security of ontology and ensure compliance as per GMI standards
  • Develop and maintain an Ontology roadmap in conjunction with Vendor/Foundry Program roadmap
  • Own Ontology maintenance and develop a deep understanding of relevant data sources
  • Provide consulting to project teams on ontology best practices/capabilities to enable use cases
  • Monitor, review, and enforce any upgrade or configuration changes/outages(Incident Management) across the platform, and communicate any changes required across workstreams.
  • Disaster recovery/ backups planning & maintenance.
  • Release Management review and deployment to Prod for Platform changes
  • Work closely with Solution/Enterprise architects to design Platform Architecture and cross-platform software integration, which includes how Foundry connects to others systems and how Foundry is positioned in the enterprise's IT ecosystem

  • Setting up Data Governance to ensure data Compliance, Security, Permissions for both internal and external data
  • Design and implement monitoring systems across all pipelines and own the reporting and remediation of those systems. Design pipeline health metrics. (PODs maintain the pipelines)
  • Setup Fin Ops structure governance
  • Platform cost monitoring/utilization/optimization
  • Audit compliance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Platform Experience (Palantir Foundry preferably):
  • In-depth understanding of typical platform capabilities( Palantir Foundry preferred), including data integration, analytics, visualization, and collaboration features.
  • Ability to leverage Palantir Foundry tools and functionalities to architect scalable and robust data solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Experience in Cloud Platforms – GCP (Big Query is mandatory), AWS , Azure
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and Cyber Security
  • Data Architecture:
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, data modeling techniques, and data governance best practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing data architectures within Platform (Palantir Foundry), including data pipelines, schemas, and data structures.
  • Data Integration and ETL:
  • Proficiency in data integration tools and technologies, including experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
  • Ability to design and develop data integration pipelines within Platform (Palantir Foundry) to ingest, transform, and integrate data from various sources.
  • Programming and Scripting:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as PySpark , Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience with scripting languages and data manipulation tools to automate tasks and optimize data workflows within Platform (Palantir Foundry)
  • Data Analysis and Visualization:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in data visualization techniques and tools to develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations within Platform(Palantir Foundry).
  • Project Management:
  • Experience in project management methodologies, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of solutions within scope and budget.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Leadership and Teamwork:
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to lead and mentor development teams in Palantir Foundry solution architecture and development.

  • Broad FMCG Business and Technology expertise
  • Good knowledge on SAP R/3 or SAP S/4 HANA, SAP BW, SAP ETL / foundational data model/Reporting Experience
