Job Description


The Office of Contract Administration is a central resource for Outreach/College of Continuing Education (“CCE”) for contracts, compliance, and complex business issues. The Office of Contract Administration is the CCE liaison to the Office of Legal Counsel, Export Control, Title IX office, and Open Records office.

  • Provides oversight, support, and training on contract compliance. 
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, mentoring, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Performs special projects in support of goals and long-range plans for the college.
  • Participates on committees. 
  • Reviews grant and contract proposals, conducts research as necessary and advises staff and University officers on complex business issues.
  • Verifies that all contracts are compliant with state and federal regulations as well as University policies.
  • Establishes a relationship with the departments and acts as a single point of contact for their contractual matters.
  • Helps departments develop new business and grow existing business lines within the confines of state law and university policies.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Job Requirements


Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Law, or related field, AND: 

  • Minimum seven years in grants or contract administration including negotiation experience.

Skills:

  • Proven track record of management experience
  • Researching policy issues to keep the organization in compliance with relevant university policies as well as state and federal regulations. Ability to meet project objectives and deadlines within designated constraints. 
  • Demonstrated successful negotiation and problem-solving skills. 
  • Drafting, reviewing, and approving contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements, reviewing proposals, certifications, and representations. Must have the skill set to balance being customer service-oriented with being a risk mitigator.
  • Works with departments to troubleshoot issues, resolve contract disputes, structure new business relationships, and draft documents as needed. 
  • Must produce deliverables with professional-level business standards. 
  • Ability to research policy issues to keep the organization in compliance with relevant university policies as well as state and federal regulations. 
  • Be able to advise departments and officers on HIPAA, FERPA, Uniform Guidance, and other state and federal regulations Ability to meet project objectives and deadlines within designated constraints. 
  • Strong Microsoft office suite software skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Department Preferences:

  • Juris Doctorate degree and Five years of university experience.
  • University Experience
