Dow has an exciting opportunity for a North Asia Sr. Sales Director for the Consumer Solutions business, located in Japan or Korea. The candidate will drive the transformation of the business to a customer centric, digitally savvy, and highly resilient organization and will be integral to re-establishing a sustainable growth trajectory for the business. This position is responsible for area customer acquisition, retention, profitability, and the day-to-day people management activities of Sales Professionals. Accountable for implementing the sales, marketing and channel strategy at the area level, strategic customer management and customer segmentation. Key performance metrics include people development, area variable margin, margin growth of differentiated offerings, DSO, AR and forecast accuracy (price and volume).

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Develops, drives, and executes the area sales plan in alignment with global business strategies and area marketing plans
  • Leads and manages a high performing sales team, recruit, hire, deploy, train, develop, evaluate and motivate team consistent with company policies to attain a resilient, highly motivated and skilled professional sales team. People management activities including goal setting, coaching, recognition, EDP, succession plan, account plan development/execution and removing “barriers” for success
  • Represents Voice of the business to the customer and Voice of the customer to the business.
  • Strategic customer relationships, acquisition and retention.
  • Builds good working relationships with people at all levels, across functions
  • Establishes commercial discipline and follow up; estimates, L&OM, CRM, distribution management, CX/DX etc.

  • A strong understanding of business operations, digital capabilities and end-to-end business processes is required
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder management and ability to engage with senior and executive leadership both in and outside of North Asia

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required
  • Both fluent English and Japanese language skill is required, Korean will be a plus
  • Significant experience in a people management role, preferably in Sales, Marketing, and Business Management
  • Exceptionally strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills are a must
  • This position will offer permanent international relocation assistance for internal candidate
  • A minimum requirement for this Japan based position is the ability to work legally in Japan. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of Japan permanent residency process.
