Nasdaq’s Technology and Operations and Support Team resident within the Legal and Regulatory Group is currently seeking a Business Operations Analyst for our central corporate system, Exchange Analysis and Compliance Tracking system (ExACT), Document Storage Repository and Listing Center website. The Business Analyst will represent multiple internal business stakeholders to elicit, understand, analyze, document, and communicate business needs so that the technical team can build effective solutions. This role will also be responsible for conducting user acceptance testing, user demos, user documentation, and performing complex data queries and responding to inquiries.

This role will provide exposure to emerging cloud technologies and the opportunity to re-imagine a system critical to the success of Nasdaq’s business, regulatory and enforcement programs by balancing tradeoffs among a complex set of objectives. You will get to work with internal stakeholders to define, evaluate, and implement solutions. You will act as a liaison for colleagues in market operations, legal and regulatory, and technology groups to aid in the development of a roadmap for transforming ExACT into a cloud-based, state-of-the-art data platform. This role requires advanced computer skills using a wide variety of software applications, including SQL Server, Oracle, SQL, Access, and Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with internal business stakeholders to document requirements and test change requests 
• Perform user acceptance testing to ensure the product is ready for production release
• Write SQL queries and respond to adhoc data requests
• Perform data analysis
• Provide production support issue triage and facilitate timely resolution
• Ability to make suggestions on areas of improvement and define proposed solutions
• Participate in internal meetings with subject matter experts to extract information and current workflows
• Act as project manager for a variety of projects.
• Prepare and validate weekly/monthly/quarterly/year end statistical reports for senior management
• Assist with Internal and External Audits
• Perform period quality control tasks to ensure data quality throughout the various systems.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Experience with relational database design
• High Proficiency with SQL in order to build complex queries
• Highly Proficiency in MS Office Tools – MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access
• Highly detailed orientated and ability to multitask
• Strong analytical and business skills to extract implicit, unstated, and unrecognized requirements.
• Experience defining web-based user interfaces and analysis of business workflows
• Strong attention to detail including precise and effective communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Familiarity with securities industry, Nasdaq and/or ExACT preferred
• Professional expertise in the following: Complex Data Analysis/System Analysis/Design and Development, Testing, Business Process Mapping and Requirements Documentation
• Degree in Computer Science, Business/Finance or related discipline.
