Marsh McLennan Global Services (MMGS) is a global capability centre of the Marsh McLennan group propelling organizational growth across several areas such as Operations, Technology and Finance. Knowledge Services is a team within MMGS with experts in multiple capabilities, from business research, data analytics, data science to creative services. The Financial Planning and Analysis analytics team within Knowledge Services is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Pune, India office:

Senior Manager - Data Analytics & Insight

  • Work on developing critical reports that inform business and finance leaders of the budget utilization and variances and drive important financial decisions for the company.
  • This role is at the rare intersection of financial analysis and analytics and can create a solid financial analyst of someone who has the right technical skillset.
  • This is a people and project manager role and is perfect for someone with a passion to work with people and excited to work in a deadline driven environment.
  • The role will collaborate with colleagues in the UK and elsewhere in India, besides the team in Pune. The extended team is made up of experienced analytics professionals, providing a great community for the hire.
  • The hire will undergo on the job training to understand various reports that are produced as well as financial concepts.

We will count on you to:

  • Work with large amounts of information and see the 'bigger picture'.
  • Gather, analyse and model data using analytical tools and techniques to develop business insights to drive decisions.
  • Develop dynamic dashboards that provide insights and visualization into performance relative to KPIs, projections, and historical performance, Identify opportunities for new and existing business with small clients.
  • Possess strong data visualization abilities and ability to comprehend and decipher basic Excel outputs to suggest alternate visual representation for concepts.
  • Multi-task on multiple projects on tight timelines occasionally.
  • Set goals, provide guidance and coaching to reports, have regular 1-1s, and provide feedback to help colleagues realize their potential.

What you need to have: 

  • 6-8 years of progressive experience mining large complex data sets, using a variety of advanced techniques and building storyboarded dynamic dashboard.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands on experience in advanced Power BI and Excel.
  • Superior critical thinking skills: able to understand the business problem, and structure it to identify relevant dataset, find errors in data, consolidate & reconcile critical finance data.
  • Strong communicator- very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Synthesis skills- Ability to connect the dots and answer the business question.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – understand scope, ask clarifying questions, communicate objectives and instructions to the team and provide regular updates, including foresight to anticipate obstacles.
  • Collaborative approach to work, in order to work with global setup with multiple stakeholders.

What makes you stand out?

  • Previous experience in FP&A analytics using advanced Power BI and Excel.
  • Previous experience of managing people, either as a people manager or on projects- setting goals, timelines and providing actionable, constructive feedback.
  • A commercial sense to apply proportionality to the depth of analytics used versus desired output.
  • Ability to take initiatives to strive for improvement in analytics techniques, process and output.
