Role

Position Overview

As the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures within our manufacturing facility. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and minimizing environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, and environmental management systems in line with local regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and incidents.
  • Lead safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to promote awareness and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, analyze root causes, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety and environmental considerations into manufacturing processes, equipment design, and facility layout.
  • Manage hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal following regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Develop initiatives in environmental impact, and monitor environmental performance metrics, such as energy consumption, waste generation, and emissions. 
  • Maintain documentation and records related to HSE activities, including incident reports, inspection findings, and training records.
  • Stay abreast of changes in health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices, and ensure compliance with updated requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE inquiries, concerns, and regulatory agencies, and represent the company in HSE-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma CSP, CIH) preferred.
  • Proven experience in HSE management within a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in using HSE management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
