EPM Specialist

As an EPM Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our digitization initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of our Finance Function through the use of EPM systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams in both finance and tech, you will drive innovation and facilitate transformative change. This role encompasses responsibilities of both functional and more technical deliverables, focusing on configuration, application ownership of EPM systems (such as SAP FC and Anaplan), and a holistic approach to optimal utilisation of the EPM systems for Schibsted Media.

To thrive in this role you like the holistic approach of understanding how we can get the best use of our EPM systems for overall financial performance, while also digging into the details of configuration. You will work closely with the manager of the Finance Systems team who is responsible for operating and driving development projects related to accounting and finance systems, including ERP, forecasting, financial consolidation, and governance, risk and compliance. In this dynamic and forward-thinking environment you will be able to influence and create great value through configuration, optimization and improvement of finance systems for Schibsted Media.

This role will report to the Head of Finance Systems. The position will be located in Oslo, and it will require some travelling.

The EPM Configuration is responsible for:

  • Continually contribute to development and automation within our group finance performance and consolidation systems, with a special responsibility for EPM (including minor support systems).
  • Identify and translate business requirements and needs into practical solutions and actionable EPM configurations.
  • Design and implement EPM configurations to meet business needs, taking ownership of EPM system deliverables and functionalities.
  • Provide primary EPM tool support for Finance and Business Controllers, including taking ownership of EPM system configuration, operational monitoring, business error handling and documentation.
  • Monitor existing systems and solve or escalate any operational issues that threaten reporting timing, including risk management and quality assurance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the team, other internal stakeholders such as financial controllers and internal IT, and external vendors.
  • Support the organisation in areas of defining use cases, user acceptance testing, master data management, and support controllers in their deliverables using EPM systems.
  • Ensure usability and accessibility of EPM deliverables, providing training and support to users as needed, and facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A higher education at bachelor or master level, preferably within accounting, business, computer science or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience with the areas of accounting or auditing, with a background as an auditor, EPM system consultant, or in a financial role with a strong interest in pursuing a more technical path.
  • Knowledge of principles, processes and systems for financial consolidation, planning and reporting, with a strong understanding of Finance and Business Controller roles.
  • Independently executing configuration and management of financial consolidation and planning systems, preferably with experience from a large organisation.
  • Great interest in functional system administration, data, systems, and integrations, with technical ability gained through working as a functional consultant, system administrator, or similar, with knowledge of financial consolidation principles, processes, and systems.
  • Methodical and structured approach, thriving in dynamic environments and driving continuous improvement with a curiosity to learn new systems and technology.
  • Independent yet collaborative mindset with exceptional communication skills, with the ability to drive processes in a complex environment with many stakeholders.
  • Nordic language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
