Reporting to Jeanette Keser, Program Director, you will join a team of passionate staff who are playing their part in making sure that we are here to deliver an exceptional learning experience for students.

We are currently seeking passionate, experienced and qualified Casual Higher Education Lecturers to join our academic team, delivering face-to-face and online subjects within the Education Faculty for postgraduate students. We are committed to including a person first perspective into all of our course offerings to produce an in depth understanding of the individual. Our ideal candidates are industry professionals or academic experts who can teach classes within special education. 

On a typical day in this role you will be responsible for:

  • Work effectively and respectfully with students from a multitude of nationalities and cultures 
  • Teaching, through various media utilising appropriate technology, to deliver learning that is flexible, student-centered and meets learning outcomes 
  • Contribute to the Education Faculty's postgraduate teaching programs in a manner that influences, motivates, and inspires all levels of students to learn 
  • Preparation and delivery of learning and assessment materials on-line and face-to-face 
  • Provide on-going assessment support for students to satisfactorily complete assessment 

This is a casual role based at our Surry Hills Campus to deliver face to face teaching. The hours are negotiable (Required to teach a 2 x 3 hour class day or evening throughout the week).

To be successful in the Casual Lecturer - Graduate Certificate in Education, Graduate Dipploma of Edcuation and master of Education ( Inclusive Education, Inclusive Literacies, Leadesrship and Innovation ) streams position you will have: 

  • Postgraduate qualifications (as a minimum - Master’s degree, PhD preferable) in a relevant discipline 
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a professional and motivated Academic team 
  • Experience in Leadership and Innovation Inclusive and Design Thinking approach. 
  • Experience in Inclusive Education 
  • Experience in Inclusive Literacies 
  • Experience in course writing, curriculum design and development will be highly regarded 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the proven ability to communicate effectively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Ability to contribute to the academic and administrative environment of the faculty with a track record of effective team work and leadership 
  • Strive for continuous improvement by contributing to subject reviews and course development Ability to adapt to changes in a fast paced Higher Education institution and effectively meet new challenges as they arise
