The university’s Office of Finance, which is responsible for overseeing the investment of Pitt’s $5.5 billion endowment, is currently seeking an Investment Analyst to join its collegial team. Reporting to the university’s Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Analyst will play an important role in the sourcing, selection, and monitoring of the endowment's investment managers across all asset classes, helping position the endowment for strong risk-adjusted performance and long-term growth.

Prior experience in investment management, investment banking, or management consulting and/or progress towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.

This is a two-year position with potential for extension based on exceptional performance.

Primary Responsibilities

Support senior investment professionals in conducting qualitative and quantitative due diligence and monitoring of prospective and existing investments.

Assist with the preparation of investment memos and quarterly Investment Committee presentations.

Participate in investment manager meetings and document discussions through detailed meeting notes.

Conduct ad hoc analysis and modeling as needed and present findings via polished deliverables.

Monitor global market trends across asset classes and summarize developments for broader team.

Qualifications

Strong writing and presentation skills.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required. Bloomberg experience a plus.

Job Summary

Supports investment leadership in performing advanced quantitative and qualitative due diligence and monitoring investments. Assists in the sourcing, selection, and monitoring of third-party investment managers in the University's Consolidated Endowment Fund (CEF). Performs document reviews, assists with various investment and administrative functions, and actively participates in and documents meetings. Conducts analysis to include all aspects of portfolio management.

Essential Functions Review and compose written reports regarding prospective and existing investments. Participate in and document meetings. Develop and maintain models used to evaluate and monitor investments.

Physical Effort Must be able to use computer, copier, and mobile phone. With experience, will be required to travel both domestically and internationally to attend meetings and conferences.
