As an Underwriting Assistant in Large Property, you will play a crucial role in the underwriting process, providing administrative and technical support to our underwriters. You will help in evaluating risks, maintaining underwriting records, and ensuring that our underwriting practices comply with company policies and industry regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist underwriters in the assessment and processing of Large Property insurance applications.
  • Gather and analyze underwriting data, including property valuations, loss history, and exposure information.
  • Prepare and maintain underwriting files, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Process endorsements, renewals, and cancellations in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as claims and risk control, to provide comprehensive customer service.
  • Utilize underwriting systems and software to rate risks and prepare quotes.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding underwriting issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support the underwriting team in achieving business goals and maintaining profitability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in underwriting technology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong understanding of underwriting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of commercial property insurance products is a plus.
