We’re looking for a Principal Software Test Engineer to be responsible for designing and running the tests on software usability. The Principal Software Test Engineer needs to identify functional problems and suggest resolutions. You will collaborate with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.

In addition, Principal Software Test Engineer ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards. Contributes to the development of improvements to overall testing and quality programs for improved results. May also interact and coordinate with internal cross-functional teams of the Product to understand the requirements and client issues. This role also expects the person to mentor other junior employees. This person needs to be committed to constant growth of knowledge and skills through a combination of company and self-driven work. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• The Principal Software Test Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end testing activities.
• Develop and execute test plans and manual test cases to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications.
• Identify, troubleshoot, report and track software defects and issues.
• Perform functional, performance, and regression testing of software products.
• Report test results and defects to the development team and other stakeholders and work on their resolution.
• Provide suggestions and feedback to improve the quality of the software development process across teams.
• Stay updated with the latest testing tools, techniques, and methodologies.
• Active participation in planning, analysis and estimation of backlog requirements
• Configure test environments with different platform combinations for testing.
• Work closely with cross-functional team.
• Ability to work in a close team environment, and with other departments.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and still meet job requirements and tight deadlines.
• Ability to help and mentor other junior employees.
• Ability to own a complete module and complete along with the junior members.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, especially around database, server OS, application servers to identify the root cause and suggest solutions.

YOUR BACKGROUND?

• A bachelor’s degree and prior work-related experience OR equivalent
• 6-8 years of related professional experience in Software testing
• Good understanding of SDLC and STLC
• Hands on experience on functional, systems testing including Test strategy, Test Planning, Test Cases Design, Test Data Setup, Defect Management, Test Execution, Traceability Matrix and Test Metrics.
• Knowledge of application servers (JBOSS, Wildfly, IBM Websphere) and tools like JIRA is highly desired.
• Knowledge and experience using Oracle and SQL Server Database and SQL queries is preferrable.
• Knowledge and experience in test automation(preferably selenium), performance testing, designing framework and scripts is preferrable.
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to effectively collaborate with all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to both analyze and troubleshoot issues around product, third party software and databases.
• Proven ability to work and handle fast paced environments and meet internal and external deadlines.
