The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is searching for candidates to join the Board of Tāmaki Redevelopment Company Ltd (TRC). TRC is owned by the Crown and Auckland Council. It is responsible for an urban regeneration programme to transform Tāmaki, working closely with local communities. Please visit the TRC website for more information.

This regeneration programme will replace an original approximately 2,500 state homes with new state, affordable, and market houses, and will leverage these housing redevelopments to enable wider social and economic regeneration. This is an opportunity to be part of enabling meaningful, enduring change for the vibrant, diverse communities of the Tāmaki area in Auckland (Glen Innes, Panmure and Point England).

At this time candidates are sought who have some of the following attributes:

  • Knowledge and experience of built regeneration
  • Extensive governance experience
  • A good understanding of public accountability
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • Chair experience

Tāmaki has a high proportion of Māori and Pacific peoples so it is important that the Board has strong experience and knowledge of relevant Māori and Pacific issues.

Nominations are welcomed from candidates from diverse backgrounds.

Please note that TRC directors are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct for Directors of Schedule 4A Companies, issued by the Public Service Commissioner under section 17(3) of the Public Service Act 2020, which you can view here: Code of Conduct For Directors of Schedule 4A Companies - Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission
