As a Senior Advanced Application Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role as a Resident Engineer fully based at our customer's site in Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam. This position requires involvement in A360 project and providing support to cover all necessary activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the system. Working mainly on application like PHD, WPKS applications, CPM and Alarm Management suite. Coordinating with Honeywell global experts for resolution of any systems issues. Identifying the need of application updates and assess the impact of the changes in the system prior to implementation. Carrying out regular system audits and submit recommendation to sustain application performance. Sharing industry best practices with customer. Participating in regular review meeting with customer's management to understand organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resident Engineer will carry out routine preventative maintenance of the site systems
  • Analyze System and Application Health Report and recommend
  • Conduct all system back-up as defined by Honeywell standards.
  • Pro-actively identifies potential quality and efficiency improvements within assigned work
  • Complies with all processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Perform any necessary changes in the configuration of the PHD/WPKS, Alarm Management System to meet requirements of customer
  • Assess the impact of any new requirements/changes in tags/graphics/reports and provide necessary recommendations
  • Recommend changes in graphics and/or reports to improve visibility of plant process
  • Configuration of new tags or re-configuration of existing tags in the PHD system
  • Modification/update of existing reports of WPKS system
  • Create new X-cell or crystal report as per requirement of WPKS Customer system
  • Implement a proper change management system with review and approval mechanisms
  • Faster resolution of any system issues
  • Develop new interfaces between PHD and other MES packages if required
  • Regular knowledge sharing with customer personnel
  • Asses individual training needs and recommend necessary training
  • Maintain comprehensive site documentation logs of system hardware, troubleshooting records.
  • Provide a monthly report summarizing the status of the Application support and service requests via Email.

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Instrumentation, Industrial, Computer Science/Engineering, Information System/Technology or other Engineering related disciplines
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a customer support role and Application or System design/upgrading
  • Experience in MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and PHD (Plant History Database)
  • Well versed with communication protocols like OPC, ODBC, etc.
  • Understanding of database applications such as MSSQL

  • Basic VB and .NET Scripting will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of software configuration management practices. 
  • Consistently making timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.
  • Engaged in the definition, development, and oversight of bench usage and configurations required for COE product testing.
  • Ability to artfully convey even subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
  • Ability to find the correct balance between demand and capacity when establishing priorities for the organization.
