JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA is seeking an Assistant Research Professor to work with Professor Jon-Paul Maria's research group. This position deals with thin film synthesis science, microelectronic materials, materials for quantum information systems, materials for infrared nano-photonics, high-entropy materials, and the fundamentals of ferroelectricity.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct experimental research that contributes to multiple programs in thin film synthesis science, microelectronic materials, materials for quantum information systems, materials for infrared nano-photonics, high-entropy materials, and the fundamentals of ferroelectricity. In all cases, the research is collaborative with teams supported by three MURIs (ARO, ONR, and AFOSR), an NSF MRSEC, and a DoE EFRC. These teams will help the successful candidate receive support from partners specializing in multiscale modeling, beamline science, and multi-modal microscopy.
