The Business Analyst has the responsibility for investigating business opportunities and identifying well-formed outcomes for improving business systems and processes. This is achieved through identifying and evaluating options, defining requirements and ensuring the effective use of information systems in meeting the needs of the business.

The opportunity:

The Change Delivery team is a global function that works with the Board and executive management to provide a full research and delivery function to advise and deliver central initiatives.

The demand for the team’s services has grown and continues to grow and as part of a small team, the successful candidate will be responsible for business analysis of pivotal initiatives and implementation of business solutions within agreed timescales and budget. The portfolio comprises MINT strategic initiatives, ranging from setting up new functions / teams, to acquisitions / due diligence and operational improvement programmes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Business analysis of core initiatives and guiding business partners towards accepting change.
  • Recommending and supporting the delivery of business and technical solutions aligned with the project goals and business outcomes .
  • Shaping the delivery of new products and services you will own professional development in understanding the market within which MINT operates, along with the commercial and competitive pressures, and potential opportunities available.
  • Collaborate with the business and IT partners to define requirements and specifications to support business process, system and report changes (functional and non-functional).
  • Work with the business units to define business cases and requirements for new business and system solutions.
  • Support delivery of business and technical solutions by coordinating deliverables and actions.
  • Identify project / business risks and issues and propose mitigating actions.
  • Provide input to the definition and production of test and training plans.
  • Ensure MINT / IDF project standards are adhered to.

Our must-haves:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, enabling business partnership.
  • Strong requirements gathering skills e.g. workshops, interviewing or questionnaire.
  • Commercial experience of utilising a variety of Business Analysis structured methods (preferred but not essential).
  • Proven capability in Lean/six sigma (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience in new product development from idea to launch, would be preferable but not essential.
  • Experience within Insurance, in particular the London Market, would be preferable but not essential.
