About the Team

  • Workday’s Information/Business Technology organization is seeking a Technical Project Manager/Scrum Master in the Go to Market (GTM) IT organization. The GTM Business Technology (BT) team supports Workday’s global Sales, Marketing and Legal organizations by providing IT services for CRM (including salesforce.com) and related technology through strong business partnership, process and technology. Our team has an ongoing dedication to lead in operational excellence by delivering high quality solutions that support our business whilst maintaining a balanced, scalable and balanced technology platform, which includes salesforce.com and other technology.

About the Role

  • The project manager/scrum master will work closely with the IT Scrum teams to lead multi-functional initiatives identified by the business or IT and leading scope, team members, requirements, timelines, risk mitigation and communication.
  • Anticipate and proactively identify what needs to be done and subsequently driving plans and discussions to initiate projects, conducting research, and feasibility analysis to provide technical recommendations back to the business and working on multiple projects at a time.
  • Core knowledge in Agile and Scrum practices is required, this role will perform both Project Management and Scrum Master functions within the organization.
  • This role is also the people coordinator of a hard-working diverse distributed team who strive to deliver outstanding results. You will also get to enjoy building positive relationships collaborating with our IT Product owners and Workday business units to delight our customers. You have the ability to influence change and affect how our workmates are supported

Responsibilities

  • Run implementation of technical solutions and/or applications for GTM IT Sales teams
  • Lead CRM (Salesforce.com and supported technology) project portfolio including project prioritization and resource planning
  • Participate in internal scrum meetings with functional leads to ensure project details are passed on to multi-functional teams. Assist the Product Owner in crafting project plans and presentations
  • Work with other IT teams to analyze and resolve problems and deliver end to end solution
  • Responsible for the delivery and provide solutions to the new and existing customer base, with a high level of focus on quality Manage timelines, deadlines, feature sets, risks, change requests, releases, and track project budget and financial indicators
  • Act as a key advisor and influencer in the matters related to change/release management policy and process across the business technology organization
  • Work with team to complete retrospectives and drive continuous improvement initiatives for implementation customers, as well as, facilitate daily stand-up, iteration planning, sprint planning and reviews, and scrum ceremonies.
  • Shown experience with leading work via project or sprint planning.
  • Guides team in time estimating practices and facilitates team estimates
  • Drive team iteration execution, communicates with management and collaborators, protects the team from uncontrolled injection of work (changes are evaluated/intentional)
  • Experience in working virtually with internal teams, 3rd parties and customers to identify and resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes!
  • Maintain team data in project management software (i.e. JIRA, Manuscript, etc.) to support estimates and execution

About You

Experience/ Skills Requirements

  • 8+ years proven experience in leading multi-functional projects and scrum master role, with a Bachelors Degree, and or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Expertise in Sales process and Lead life-cycle; experience with CPQ is a plus
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM is highly recommended
  • Experienced with scrum and other agile development methods
  • Experience working with customers and understanding their business needs and technical requirements.
  • Proficient understanding of the complete software implementation lifecycle - including integrations requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and move to production
