Join us as a Key Account Manager within the Electrification Business where you will lead key sales pursuits and development strategies for target customers and across New South Wales. You will focus on growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction to increase ABB’s market share within your sales region. This position reports to the National Sales Manager and is based in Notting Hill, Melbourne.

Your responsibilities

  • Identifying and pursuing key opportunities within the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory regions
  • Creating and executing targeted sales strategies to increase ABB’s order success rate for important customers and project pursuits. Building connections with key stakeholders and decision-makers in your allocated customer organizations to gain insights into the important factors that drive end user engagement and purchasing behaviors
  • Using the multiple tender platforms available while also working together with the other sales managers responsible for both individual Products & targeted Segments to understand both the market and customer needs to be the first choice of customers for investment projects throughout the entire sales process
  • Defining and proposing sales order and gross margin targets for the key targeted accounts within your sales region
  • Selling products and/or solutions across the entire MV Distribution Solution portfolio, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets.
  • Monitoring competitor’s activity and ensuring that appropriate response strategies are formulated and implemented
  • Leading the development and implementation of the account plan to include designing the executive relationship strategy and coverage plans, prioritizing the opportunities, identifying a target for each solution element
  • Ensuring 100% compliance toward ABB’s safe working practices and high integrity standards

Your background

  • Degree qualified in Engineering (Electrical) / Commercial qualification or recognized preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or account management within a similar industry
  • Technical experience within the electrical industry, ideally medium voltage ( eg: switchgear, protection relays, compact secondary substations)
  • Estimating and tendering experience (SAP) will be highly regarded
  • Experience in financial reporting and comfortable tracking costs
  • Experienced in communicating with all levels of the organisation both internally and externally
