Position Purpose

In this critical role, you will be responsible for driving financial planning and analysis (FP&A), sales and operations planning (S&OP), and integrated planning with counterparts in other enterprise functions through the sales lens. You will play a pivotal role in aligning our sales and marketing strategies with operational execution, ensuring financial discipline, and driving profitable growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with business partners to lead strategic and annual planning processes; ensure tight linkage with business and financial objectives; facilitate setting financial targets and objectives and work with the team to build plans to achieve objectives
  • Lead ongoing execution and financial forecasting activities consistent with fast-changing demands on the business; plan and execute for improving financial results
  • Proactively manage ongoing risks and opportunities, and drive decision making and resources to deliver against both the annual and long-term Strategic Plans
  • Serve as financial leader and strategic thought partner for business leadership, advising on investment decisions, risk trade-offs, and gap closure
  • Align marketing investment and promotional activities to support sales objectives, maximizing variable margin dollars and strategically aligned, healthy growth
  • Coach and develop outcome-oriented professionals in supported business function(s) and within Finance, build enhanced capabilities through talent development, ongoing coaching, and performance management.
  • Proactively strengthen working relationships throughout the organization in support of business objectives.
  • Responsible for internal controls and disclosure controls for quarterly signoff for operations and finance areas.

  • Customer demand and net sales growth, market share
  • Variable gross profit performance
  • Effectiveness of promotional actions and overall marketing effectiveness
  • Sales plan forecast accuracy

Position Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in Finance with direct leadership experience
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing sales planning processes in a large, complex organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; an MBA is a plus
  • Experience working in a consumer goods industry is preferred

  • Finance: Comprehensive understanding of financial accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management principles
  • Sales planning: In-depth knowledge of planning frameworks, methodologies, and best practices
  • Consumer Goods Industry: Knowledge of the specific dynamics, trends, and challenges of the consumer goods industry (if applicable)
  • Technology: Familiarity with data analytics tools, visualization software, and collaborative platforms used in planning processes

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and translate business strategy into operational plans
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Skillful in analyzing complex data, identifying trends, and proposing solutions to business challenges
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to present information effectively and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Leadership & Team Management: Ability to motivate, develop, and lead a high-performing IBP team
  • Change Management: Expertise in driving organizational change and adoption of new processes and technologies
  • Negotiation & Influence: Skillful in negotiation and influencing others to gain buy-in for fucntional initiatives

  • Decision-Making: Ability to make sound judgments based on incomplete information and under pressure
  • Time Management & Organization: Skilled in managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
