The Nuclear Science and Engineering (NSE) Division is seeking a Nuclear Engineering Postdoc to provide support in the analysis of multi-physics aspects of nuclear fission reactors including fuel behavior, materials, neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, and structural mechanics. The candidate will assist in investigation of the performance of nuclear fission reactors and fuel cycle facilities and contribute to optimization of reactor and fuel cycle design. In this position, the candidate will develop computational methods and/or computer codes to model the physics and engineering of reactor and fuel cycle systems. The particular focus of this position includes the integration of the physical modeling of advanced reactor fuels and materials, treatment of multiphase/multicomponent fluid dynamics, and implementation of highly optimized and stable numerical and computational methods. This role requires the production of papers and reports describing results of development work, analyses, and investigations and the ability to integrate within a multi-faceted software development team.
