JOB SUMMARY

Our Every Penny Counts (EPC) Program Specialist will work with a team of folks providing limited emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, food, and medical care for individuals living with HIV in Minnesota. This role plays an integral part in ensuring individuals living with HIV have some of their basic needs met. The person in this position will be working onsite 100% of the time. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assisting the emergency financial assistance program with reviewing monthly Ryan White client eligibility documentation and scanning it into client database. 
  • Processing emergency financial requests, developing check requests, distributing, and documenting financial transactions on Excel spreadsheet and in client database.
  • Assist with the monthly distribution, tracking and recording of food vouchers. 
  • Entering client eligibility data along with updating current client personal information into the client database. Processing new client applications and entering data into the current client database system.
  • Monitoring and replying to program emails, faxes, and phone messages from clients and other HIV Services Providers. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with frequently utilized service providers.
  • Understanding all aspects of the various emergency financial assistance programs that EPC offers.
  • Providing backup coverage for the Transportation Program and Reception desk.
  • Other duties as assigned based on agency and department needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1+ years of customer service or client focus background.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Saleforce.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Individuals with lived experience or a passion towards our target populations (Gay/Bi/MSM/Queer, Transgender, African American, multi-racial communities that are disproportionately impacted by HIV, HIV positive people, and those engaging in risk behaviors for HIV in individual and group settings) are encouraged to apply.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is onsite 100% of the time and involves working in shared office space. Onsite parking or public transit is paid for by the employer.
  • Employees working in person with clients or out of our offices must show proof of vaccination and attest to their vaccination status upon hire. Employees who are not vaccinated will be required to show a negative COVID-19 PCR test result once a week if working with clients or in our offices. Religious and medical exemptions or reasonable accommodations will be considered upon request as required by applicable law

This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa. All wages, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment will be established through negotiations with the union.
