Join Our Team as a Senior Nutritionist for the WIC Program!

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the health and well-being of women, infants, and children? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Nutritionist to lead our team in managing the nutrition component of the Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to federal regulations and state policies by planning, supervising, and evaluating the nutrition component of the program.
  • Policy Development: Develop local program nutrition procedures based on state WIC Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Program Nutritionists and Nutrition Assistants, providing ongoing mentorship and guidance.
  • Service Enhancement: Define staff responsibilities, work schedules, and participant service hours to optimize program delivery.
  • Staff Development: Ensure nutrition staff have up-to-date knowledge and skills through training and annual reviews.
  • Program Enhancement: Plan and evaluate nutrition education delivery, implement new strategies, and oversee annual Farmer’s Market Events.
  • Community Engagement: Act as a nutrition liaison between state agencies, local programs, and healthcare providers, developing outreach and referral networks.
  • Additional Duties: Perform high-risk certifications, provide nutrition education, and assist in program administration as needed.

Qualifications

Must have one of the below qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, or Nutrition Education and two years experience of post-graduate, community nutrition experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, Foods and Nutrition, or Nutrition Education, and one year of post-graduate, community nutrition experience. 
  • Registered Dietitian with one year of post-graduate, community nutrition experience. Licensure with the Board of Registration of Dietitians and Nutritionists preferred

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills, approachability, and friendliness.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
