POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Item Configuration Specialist is responsible for a variety of activities to support the management of medical device configurations in the ERP and document control systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Able to work independently on tasks encompassing item configuration and Bill of Materials (BOM) activities.
  • Is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in systematic transactions related to item configuration and BOM maintenance.
  • Maintenance of product configuration for domestic/international markets in the ERP system per approved Document Change Notifications.
  • BOM maintenance in configuration management and electronic resource planning software per approved Document Change Notifications.
  • Demonstrates ability to work and communicate in a cross-functional environment including Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering departments.
  • Manages large projects in item configuration and directs junior staff in execution of tasks.
  • Demonstrates the ability to plan and track tasks to align with project plan and team objectives.
  • Ensure all product configurations activities are within scope of established procedures and quality management system requirements.
  • Management of disposition activities following the completion of a Document Change Notice to ensure compliance to both internal and external requirements.
  • Evaluates processes within scope of job and makes changes as needed to achieve best practices.
  • Maintain records as required by the quality system.
  • Administers the obsolescence of products process within the ERP system.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a comparable position
  • MRP system software experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Effective organizational and verbal communication skills
  • Data Analysis Experience
  • Computer/Data Entry Skills
  • Problem Solving/Trouble Shooting Experience
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Highly motivated individual, able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes
  • Project Management Experience
  • The ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Item Configuration experience
  • ERP experience using Microsoft Great Plains (GP) or similar system
  • Document control systems / Master Control experience
  • Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry experience, as well as experience with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
