Job Purpose

  • The role of the Product Head- Bancassurance is to simplify the complexity of Insurance products and processes for the sales force of the Bank. He/ She is also responsible for orchestrating various activities along with the Insurers internal and stakeholders associated to ensure that this product is delivered against users' needs only.

Key Accountabilities

  • Achieve and Exceed Insurance Targets for DBS Bank India Ltd
  • Working with Insurers and the business owners to gather & review renewal information for corporate insurance arrangements. Ensure that the bank maintains a healthy persistency of above 90%
  • Working with insurance product managers and markets to execute business development activities aimed at generating insurance prospects, and follow by action plan to convert the prospects to clients of insurance
  • Ensure all Insurance complaints/ clients disputes are managed and closed within stipulated timelines defined as per process.
  • Manage the liability claims notification process to insurers so that the insurers have sufficient information to investigate claims and monitor the effectiveness of the insurer’s claims handling service. Ensure that claims are redirected to service providers wherever possible and ensure the terms and conditions of contracts are clear and robust (SLA Management)
  • Manage Internal and External Audits
  • Support IBG team and Asset teams to ensure that at least 80% of the loans are embedded with a Life /General Insurance product to protect the bank and client against NPA.
  • Coordinate between sales and Insurers underwriters for reducing operational delays and reduce TATs.
  • Track for daily insurance calls and qualified prospect list by SPs in Branches, Treasures, IBG, Assets and CASA channel.
  • Ensure that the prospects and calls are aligned to meet the monthly insurance objectives on productivity and activation.
  • Send weekly update of the input –Output tracker specifically highlighting branch wise new /follow up calls and the output measured in terms of NOP and APE

Required Experience

  • Overall, more than 15 years of experience in Banca Sales and Products
  • Good interpersonal and strong leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence at all levels within the business.
  • Strong commitment to deliver results and make a meaningful contribution in a team environment. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and structure issues for detailed resolution.
  • Successful track record, in a position of responsibility, handling insurance negotiations between clients. - Clear evidence of successful management experience.
  • Proven sales track record in the insurance/ financial services industry
  • Sound Understanding of financial planning and wealth management products.
  • Knowledge of competitors and marketplace

Education / Preferred Qualifications

  • An MBA or CA with relevant number of years of experience in banking and specifically in retail banking is preferable.
