Department 00491 - Utah Presents Job Summary
The Lighting Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and works in tandem with the full-time Technical Director and Head Audio Engineer to plan and execute events and maintain all systems in a busy, historic theatrical venue. This role is hands-on and oversees all lighting needs including lighting programming, drafting lighting plots, distribution tie-in, systems operation and maintenance as well as assisting in projections and video needs. This position will supervise part time crew and frequently collaborates with community and touring organizations, ensuring event success.
Kingsbury Hall is a 1900-seat proscenium theatre in the heart of University of Utah that hosts a wide spectrum of events including the UtahPresents Series, campus events, student performances, as well as numerous rental events for community groups and national promoters. Genres include music, theater, dance, comedy, film screenings, lectures, conferences, graduations, and more. Support may extend to other UtahPresents presentations in other venues, several times a year.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
