POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Product Marketing Director of Coffee, the Product Marketing Associate will help bolster Finlays’ coffee portfolio, utilizing market research and strategy, to penetrate new channels and bring new products to market. You will be responsible for developing and implementing go-to market plans for successful market penetration and product launches, supporting and leading cross-functional teams along the way. You will develop and manage launch phasing, working closely with the sales team to equip them with training, marketing content, and an effective sampling process. You will be responsible for developing and implementing tactical plans to grow revenue, improve margin, and optimize Finlays’ portfolio and customer experience with products.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: 

Product Marketing Strategy: 

  • Aid in the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for existing and new product offerings, working cross functionally throughout the process.
  • Leverage market research of target market and potential customers to identify and analyze the needs of the market, market size, and competition.
  • Track the competitive landscape and regularly share findings with internal key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Brand team, Coffee Product Marketing Director, and Insights team to develop content for all stages of the marketing funnel and launch marketing campaigns year-round.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Technical, and Operations teams on product enhancement for scaling, optimization, and technical features. 
  • Understand and represent the voice of the customer.
  • Assist with developing pricing strategies for product offerings.
  • Participate in the investment strategy to support new equipment or processes as appropriate. 
  • Working cross functionally with R&D, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Quality ensuring smooth workflows and interdepartmental understanding of new products. 

Sales Enablement: 

  • Educate the sales team through product and marketing strategy training sessions.
  • Deliver relevant insights to the sales team to drive customer interaction and support pipeline activity.
  • Aid in the development of marketing materials and content (presentations, sell sheets, sampling kits, etc.)
  • Support the sales team with customer inquiries, customer meetings, trade shows, RFPs, and pricing requests.

Coffee Portfolio Support:

  • Analyze research and trend data, summarize results, and educate relevant parties for assigned special projects.
  • Support the Coffee Marketing Director executing annual marketing tasks, pricing, new product development of extracts, and SKU rationalization. 
  • Assist in identifying gaps in the coffee product portfolio and coffee packaging formats.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING TO US: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, or relatable experience. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Copywriting, content development, and/or design skills are a plus.
  • Ability to derive recommendations from data analysis.
  • Understanding of Financial P&L
  • Experience in cross-functional team management
  • Proficient in handling simultaneous projects and delivering on tight timelines 
  • Advanced capabilities in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, & Adobe 
  • Ability to travel to our facilities, meetings, and trade events 3 – 6 times a year
  • Strong preference for candidates located in Northeastern U.S. or near San Antonio, TX
