This position is responsible for the clerical day-to-day shipping/receiving activities within the warehouse shipping office. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, verifying, and recording product and/or materials at our San Antonio facility. 

REPORTS TO: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

FUNCTION:

  • Ensure that load times are met in order to avoid "live load" situations. Meet pre-load expectations to set up successful start-up for shifts to follow.
  • All shipping / receiving administrative duties such as prepare documents for shipping, maintaining shipping records, data entry, and answering incoming calls.
  • Review documentation for accuracy of deliveries and ensure that any short or inaccurate deliveries are documented and followed up.
  • Responsible for all paperwork/logs and ensuring that it flows to the proper channels. Position will maintain outside carrier appointment logs to ensure timely deliveries for customer pick-ups.
  • Audit shipping paperwork such as Bill of Lading, Packing Lists and Lot Sheets.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and ensure that all internal and external customers are treated with excellent customer service
  • Prepare reports as required for internal monitoring purposes and research disputed PO/BOL as needed.
  • Assigning loads to loaders and ensuring that loaders are designated a standard amount of work for daily load out. Work with Yard mule to ensure trailers are spotted on a timely manner to increase loading efficiency.
  • Maintain raw material logs and trailer #'s to provide production with accurate information.
  • Follow the facility's food safety and food quality programs to assure compliance and achieve desired results.
  • Sign for and inspect incoming product.
  • Place received items into stock, update inventory, and maintain documentation.
  • Count daily production, record, and enter information into computer to update finished goods and/or second operations.
  • Track, monitor, and verify inventory levels - correct problems as they are discovered so that inventory location and quantity accuracy is maintained to ensure smooth flow of materials/goods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Prior experience in warehouse, shipping, material handling or similar position
  • Microsoft Office software experience to include Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience with inventory and stocking systems 
  • Ability to interact, influence and obtain cooperation from multiple departments
  • Planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills
  • A high degree of (internal/external) customer focus and strong sense of urgency
  • Familiar with forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
