The departmental administrative assistant manages all of the day-to-day operations of the Electrical & Computer Engineering department. This person directs all requests of the department by being the first point of contact for the faculty and chair. All faculty/student/external visitors who make contact, in person, by phone, or by email, are screened by the administrative assistant who must make decisions daily as to how their needs can be serviced. He/she is responsible for coordinating course and room scheduling, employment processing, purchasing, maintaining office supplies, and budget tracking. He/she also responsible for posting jobs and hiring of student employees, all graduate teaching/research assistant contracts, faculty and staff personnel/payroll forms. He/she also hires, supervises and mentors a student office assistant. This person assists and advises students and faculty on their needs, delegating work as appropriate.
