We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our growing team on this next stage of the Sydney Metro and other projects

Job Purpose

The role of the supervisor will be to ensure that the project is delivered within the guidelines of UGL’s standard business practices and that it meets contractual obligations. You will be required to lead by example in the safe execution of the maintenance requirements observing both UGL and client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • continuously oversee work, analyse production methods and production performance
  • monitoring performance and re-assessing efficiency, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary
  • Ensure subcontractors are managed in an effective and responsive manner to achieve project objectives, through:
  • analysing tasks and selecting appropriate resources in conjunction with the Maintenance Superintendent and Maintenance Planner
  • Develop and deliver against a project plan through:
  • planning and scheduling own and team’s work to meet required timelines and outputs through prioritising activities against daily program and liaison with appropriate project staff
  • understanding output requirements and clarifying as appropriate and communicating to team members in a timely manner
  • Ensure relevant stakeholders’ requirements are met by building and maintaining productive internal and external relationships, including:
  • creating and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • clarifying key stakeholder needs and allocating resources to ensure the delivery of effective outcomes
  • Ensure comprehensive records are established and maintained to assist decision making, through:
  • reporting daily site events on a timely basis
  • measuring and reporting on progress against project plans
  • updating and recording through Asset Management System
  • Ensure project standards and quality are achieved through:
  • Monitoring and reporting adherence to safe work method statements and undertaking risk analysis of same
  • ensuring plant and equipment are operating in an optimal and safe fashion
  • Provide leadership, direction, supervision and inspirational management to all team members (direct & indirect).
  • Establish clear communication, solid lines of control and delegation to sub-ordinates and actively create and maintain a culture of openness, responsiveness, honest, ethics and responsibility across the team.
  • Manage the selection and training of all team members, building a high skilled, performance focused, innovative, passionate team.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Trade qualification 
  • Driver’s Licence 
  • RIW Card
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
  • Experience within a similar position 
  • Electrical & mechanical background
