Horizon Cloud Service provides a multi-tenant, cloud scale architecture that enables customers to choose where their virtual desktops and applications

reside(Cloud, on-premises or both).

Our goal is to enable customers to digitise their workspaces by accessing Virtual desktops and applications from any where and on any device. As part of

Horizon cloud services team you will be a technical leader who contributes to design, architecture and development of scalable software. You will be

owning engineering initiatives and champion a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

You will need to be the owner of the components/product areas that you will work on.

You will be regularly evaluated on the quality of the product you create and the code you write to ensure continued advancement of your technical

skills in an environment that looks to expand them.

You will be impacting millions of users who will be digitising their workspaces.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering priority features by working with the key stakeholders, including PMs, architects, other team

members, and across geographic locations.

You will be expected to produce software design and corresponding code with the highest quality. You are an active contributor to a large volume

of code, design wikis, code reviews. These designs and code must meet organisation and industry quality standards.

Our team firmly believes in “Dev Owns Quality”, and we expect to release our products with near-zero defects and no regressions. You will deliver

automated tests and documentation to support the implementations of new features and functionalities and help solve any customer issues in the

product.

We operate as one team across the globe, and as such, everyone owns every aspect of the product, from developing new capabilities to

supporting customer issues.

You will also become familiar with the development and CICD processes in place. You will be able to independently take a code change from

review, prefights, and postflight pipelines, across various cloud environments to production

As a member of the Horizon cloud services team, you will work with and contribute to its Kubernetes-based micro services architecture, and all

your deliverables must align with the group’s development and deployment standards.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

As a technology leader, you will:

Work with the engineering teams and product management to review and refine delivery requirements

Work closely with other cross-functional leads and specialists across the product teams, own end-to-end deliverables.

Write technical design documents and hold reviews.

Perform Work breakdown and plan execution in Jira for large features.

Design and develop highly efficient code ensuring scalability, performance, security, and quality

Develop and maintain software that delivers on the team’s objectives primarily in Java-based micro services on spring boot-based framework

Drive and embody the “Dev Owns Quality” culture.

Deploy micro services to Kubernetes using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems

Provide technical leadership to the feature team. Lead design and code reviews.

You will develop applications using Sprint boot, Kafka, Redis, micro-services, other cloud design patterns and cloud native solutions

This role will be reporting to the Manager/Senior Manager, Engineering. Our team’s focus is on challenging the status quo by innovating but at the same

time getting stuff done. We believe in building trust amongst all our stakeholders and committing to make our customers successful.

The team is organized based on modules to define clear responsibility and accountability. At the same time teams are fluid enough to own up whatever is

needed for the larger product to be successful.
