THE OPPORTUNITY

We have a terrific opportunity for a high-performing full-stack software engineer on our amazing RTL software team. Based in Belrose with travel opportunities across ANZ, see your projects come to life in key client sites. Well-versed in all mobile and computing IT systems areas, this opportunity focuses on implementing voice-directed computing technologies and hand-held devices through C#, Java, Python, and JavaScript. 

Our comprehensive selection of intelligent warehouse solutions focuses on logistics and materials handling, ensuring the delivery of the finest products and services to customers. Dematic offers solutions to suppliers within the retail and wholesale distribution, eCommerce, grocery, food and beverage industries, and the manufacturing and transport sectors. 

The work hours are Monday to Friday, with the requirement to support an On Call Roster. As this is a customer-facing role, a customer-first approach is key to resolving technical issues and providing timely and effective solutions. Once fully onboarded, a mix of working from site and home will be available.

Tasks and Qualifications:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, test, and deploy required changes with Honeywell Voice Solutions and other platforms
  • Take ownership of the Interface Specifications document
  • Perform Unit Testing during and after development
  • Aid System Integration Testing and support User Acceptance Testing
  • Deliver software projects by commissioning production systems during go-live, setting up of Voice application within customer systems
  • Participate in design and code reviews, change and release management, maintenance and change requests
  • Work on active production systems, performing upgrades and improvements while ensuring data integrity and system stability
  • Develop and maintain effective ongoing relationships with customers, providing 24 X 7 customer support
  • Develop functional specifications and reports
  • Provide product expertise to support the sales process, recognising and reporting sales opportunities
  • Agree and execute on-time schedules with Team Leaders and achieve specified targets
  • Follow Software Development Quality Processes and procedures
  • Contribute towards Software Development improvement processes
  • Contribute towards a Software Development environment that fosters technical excellence and teamwork

ABOUT YOU

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 
  • Minimum 3 years full stack development and software customisation using C#, Java, Python, JavaScript (VueJS, NodeJS)
  • API development
  • SQL database management, query/stored procedure development, and maintenance
  • Client warehouse management system (WMS) integration
  • VBA Excel Macro programming is an advantage
  • Interest in robotics/automation
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Technical writing ability
  • Self-motivation, effective teamwork, and ability to self-manage when working remotely
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, including interstate or NZ (typically 2 – 3 days bi-annually)
