Senior Cloud platform tech lead

Our cloud solutions are enablers of the digital transformation for business and our normal life. One of the enabling technologies for the digital transformation is cloud computing, this will enable a completely other way of working for the business.

To support this, NXP-IT formed a Cloud Center of Excellence (Cloud CoE) reporting directly into the CIO. The Cloud CoE’s goal is to enable accelerated and sustainable adoption of cloud across the enterprise (both business and IT) - maximizing the ability to realize its benefits while reducing risk. This team is recognized as the industry leading Cloud Center of Excellence for the high-tech industry.

The Cloud CoE is responsible for defining Strategy and policy for cloud computing, driving, and implementing cloud services and platforms, running proof of concepts, piloting emerging cloud technologies (e.g. GenAI, Machine Learning) and supporting business-initiatives in adapting cloud technologies (including organizational change).

As the Senior Cloud platform Tech lead, you are challenged to create cloud platform solutions in line with vision and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud solutions, cloud computing and technology systems. You have the ability to work closely with customers to understand their technology and business needs, and design scalable, highly available and resilient cloud solutions based on these business needs. We are looking for someone who possesses a balance of technical proficiency, business knowledge, with strong communication skills. You should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.

Your Responsibilities

• Ensure that the cloud platform solutions support the variety of solutions/systems by having all enablers/features in place.
• Be responsible for the quality of the automation processes and systems used in the Cloud CoE by driving continuous improvements.
• Design, implement and maintain secure, compliant, cost-effective, and fully automated cloud solutions to enable a smooth and secure way for business and IT teams to develop and deploy cloud-based services (including the associated documentation).
• Design and implement processes and tooling to monitor, improve and optimize the operational, security and performance health status of cloud products and services. By applying techniques of continuous verification & delivery to ensure the quality of our products and services. You built it, you run it.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (business, enterprise architects, solution architects, and engineers) to understand and break-down business goals into technical requirements, functional/non-functional requirements, and desired features.
• Work closely with team members to implement solutions for customers, this may include cloud (data) DevOps engineers, data platform engineers, solution architects, security architects.
• Provide leadership to Data DevOps teams in implementing cloud data solutions, in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Be evangelist of cloud computing to the rest of NXP
• Stay updated on the latest developments in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business and IT) to ensure successful project delivery.
• Actively participate in communities / forums / guilds on cloud computing and data solutions (e.g. Generative AI, Machine learning) (both external and internal to NXP)

Our team

• The Cloud CoE is a team of dedicated and passionate IT professionals. The team is around 30 people which are in Eindhoven the Netherlands and in Bangalore, India
• The Cloud CoE consists of Cloud platform team including enabling role and Cloud Data platform team including enabling role.

Your profile

We are looking for a Senior Cloud platform tech lead with the following characteristics:

• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering
• 5+ or more years of tangible experience designing, executing and supporting IT cloud solutions
• Understand (business) requirement and translate these in technical solutions
• Proven experience in software engineering techniques, cloud-native architecture and supporting tooling
• Prior experience in working on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar) and microservice-architecture oriented solutions is a definite plus
• Azure or AWS Certification and the ability to learn and understand new technologies quickly.
• Knowledge of the DevOps culture and principles.
• Up to date and proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and supportive tooling
• Up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity threats, current best practices, and latest software.
