The SRE team is hiring for a SRE Manager

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to fill a new Site Reliability Engineering (“SRE”) Manager role in Europe. The SRE team is responsible for performance tuning and capacity planning for multiple high performance, low latency financial exchanges. The SRE team also provides operational support for these exchanges to maintain system availability and optimal performance. The SRE Manager works closely with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Network Engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues, to coordinate and support platform configuration updates, and to leverage new cutting-edge technologies.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Leading, mentoring, and providing guidance to 3 direct reports
• Providing thought leadership to identify new solutions and efficiencies for the Operations team
• Driving and implementing capacity planning decisions for the exchanges
• Analyzing and optimizing the performance of the exchanges
• Monitoring production and certification platforms to maintain optimal system health and uptime
• Supporting Cboe’s Incident Management process to promptly resolve issues and conduct root cause analysis
• Providing technical guidance and direction to successfully complete projects by defined target dates
• Implementing, maintaining, and providing training to accommodate team growth and development

The ideal candidate has:

• Previous experience as a system administrator, software developer, or within a technical operations support role
• High level of proficiency in Python, SQL, and Linux shell scripting
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Vigorous desire to learn about low latency financial platforms
• Ability to read and evaluate C++ (desired)
• Network Administration experience (desired)
• AWS Cloud (desired)
• Competency with Jira, MS Office tools (including Visio, Confluence, and SharePoint)

You’ll really stand out with:

• Previous leadership experience with 2+ direct reports
• Previous experience supporting low latency financial platforms
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
