Job Description

This position is responsible for delivering high quality experimental output in support of innovation, product development, portfolio maintenance, marketing and/or plant support. Key products supported include the full spectrum of engine and driveline oils, hydraulic fluids and industrial lubricants and greases. Accountabilities include:- End-to-end management of lab activities from blend request through to interpretation and reporting of data in the requested format in compliance with ISO 9001 Quality standard. Managing inventory of lab components, blends and samples. Ensuring proper operation, calibration and documentation of instrumentation. Ensuring HSSE Goal Zero, quality control and QC trending. Organizing experimental data to reveal relevant correlations and discussion with relevant project lead. Developing a good working knowledge of properties and applications of all products tested. Actively manage workflow of larger, more complex experimental programs using a Lean approach to minimize waste/duplication in blending/testing

The successful candidate is expected to manage multiple concurrent experimental projects often for several Project Leaders located either in STCH or virtually and delivering quality results in a timely manner. Ensuring compliance with all HSSE requirements and good laboratory practices and demonstrating courage to intervene in any unsafe situation. Be trained on a range of instruments and product categories to ensure lab flexibility and depth of coverage. Carry out initial analysis of test results for report to project leaders. Suggests potential approaches based on trends as data is being generated.

Requirements

Experience in Lubricant performance testing and chemical analysis and/or strong mechanical aptitude – data analysis and reporting- Experience of quality management systems and laboratory processes- Experience of HSE systems and process (e.g. MOC, PTW)- Flawless HSSE track record with evidence of having enhanced safety barriers in lab environment- Proven communication skills, written and verbal and strong team player- Strong computer literacy (familiarity with Sample Manager a plus)- >5 years’ experience in lubricants testing environment with in-depth knowledge of at least one product category preferred.
