What will you do?

  • 5-7 Years experience in Mainframe technology stack handling production support role
  • Design, code, test, and implement changes to existing mainframe applications.
  • Ongoing support of business applications by problem analysis, resolution, reporting and escalation as required.
  • Monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks
  • Leverage your expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, and IMS DB/DC to enhance functionality.
  • Debug and resolve issues related to batch processing, online transactions, and system interface
  • Working closely with multiple teams (Business colsultant, Development, QA) to ensure timely delivery of tasks/projects.
  • Utilize tools like Endevor for version control, deployment, and change management.
  • Implement code changes following established processes and best practices.
  • Manage batch jobs using JCL and scheduling tools (e.g., CA7).
  • Participating and sharing Functional/Technical knowledge with other team members
  • Good Reasoning and analytical skills
  • Good Communication skills
  • Work as a team player / Strong Collaboration
  • Should be flexible to support Nightly batch/On-call/Weekend Upgrades, Implementations and rostered Night shift if required.
  • Role Definition:
  • I develop, support, deploy and/or test basic technology solutions of limited scale.
  • I work with supervision and guidance and apply basic engineering skills, tools, practices, and techniques to all deliverables.
  • I understand the software requirements and ensure its translated into good quality production - ready code basis provided design & instructions.
  • I understand the defined scope and timelines and deliver quality deliverable within the estimated time.
  • I attend and actively participate in the team ceremonies.
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Strong expertise in mainframe - COBOL, IMS, CICS, DB2, IMS DB, VSAM, JCL and Mainframe DevOps (IBM IDz) troubleshooting skills using debugging tools. 
  • Able to perform effective code review, design implementations pertaining to batch and online process.
  • Proficient in establishing monitoring approach for batch jobs and online systems using CA7 scheduler.
  • Develop and maintain CICS transactions, handle online transaction processing (OLTP) in CICS and troubleshoot CICS-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain IMS databases and online transaction programs. Handle both batch and online processing in IMS.
  • Use Endevor for source code management and version control.
  • Proficient in writing, debugging, and optimizing COBOL programs.
  • Create and manage JCL jobs for batch processing.
  • Schedule and monitor batch jobs using tools like CA7 Scheduler.
