We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Protection SME to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring our organization adheres to all relevant data privacy regulations and best practices. This role requires a deep understanding of data protection principles and a proven track record of implementing data protection solutions, specifically focused on Microsoft Purview suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage data protection projects, including implementation and ongoing maintenance of Microsoft Purview solutions:
  • Information Protection (MIP) for data classification, labeling, and encryption
  • Information Rights Management (IRM) for access control
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to prevent sensitive data leaks
  • eDiscovery for legal and regulatory compliance
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data protection policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Conduct data protection risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Advise on the legal and regulatory implications of data processing activities
  • Manage data subject access requests (DSARs) and ensure compliance with relevant data subject rights
  • Stay up to date with the latest data protection regulations and trends
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as IT, Legal, and HR, on data protection matters
  • Identify and implement data protection best practices across the organization
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and partners in the data protection space

Qualifications:

  • 7-8 years of experience in data protection or a related field
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing data protection solutions, specifically Microsoft Purview suite (MIP, IRM, DLP, eDiscovery)
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Strong understanding of data security concepts and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other data protection tools and solutions
  • Experience conducting data protection training programs
  • Experience with data breach response processes
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar certification
  • Holding active SC400 certification is required.
