Project / Change Manager

Description:

Tokio Marine Europe SA (TME) was created in 2018 to ensure that the Tokio Marine Group can continue servicing its clients in the European Economic Area following Brexit. TME has branches in ten European countries, and its mission is to become an integrated and scalable insurance platform. To achieve that over the next years, TME has embarked on many significant projects such as continuously improving local branches' business processes, enhancing Target Operating Model and matrix functioning, and fully integrating all TME branches into one architecture.

As Project Manager, you will be employed by our legal entity Tokio Marine Europe S.A. Spanish Branch that trades under the Tokio Marine HCC name. You will be leading multiple projects and supporting multiple workstreams across Europe to deliver efficiencies in our operating model. Travelling to TME European offices and London could be expected.

Responsibilities:

We are looking to hire a Project / Change Manager who is keen to support the TME Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure all organisational changes are successfully delivered using best-practice Project Management methodologies. This role will report directly to the Head of PMO TME.

The TME PMO manages an extensive portfolio of transformational projects of varying sizes and complexity. 

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about delivering change through projects. An enthusiastic person willing to work in a team, learn new skills, and explore how to achieve the best organisational framework for creating improvement. A person with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects and experience in building successful partnerships and relationships.

Please note that this is not an IT technical role. Therefore, candidates with mainly IT project management experience will not be considered.

  • For projects with low levels of complexity, lead, support or coach projects assigned by the Head of the PMO through all phases of the project cycle. This includes working with colleagues at the idea / problem statement phase, proposing the to-be solution as well as execution, monitoring and control and close.
  • Manage, support or coach projects at all levels of complexity (high, medium or low) assigned by the Head of the PMO through the execution phases of the project.
  • Manage relationships in a matrix organisation amongst stakeholders at all levels by building confidence and trust, clear professional communications and assured expectation management.
  • Create momentum and excitement around projects.
  • Work with different organisational layers to identify opportunities for business improvements across the operating model (people, process, and systems).
  • Build a shared understanding of the 'As-Is' through conducting process mapping and translating business needs into project deliverables.
  • Synthesise regulatory, business, and technical information to ensure the proposed solutions deliver the desired business outcomes.
  • Ensure the projects are data-driven to guide decision-making and deliver quantitative results.
  • Seek counsel of the manager, peers and stakeholders when needed.
  • Escalate, as appropriate, any risks and issues that may negatively impact the project's delivery of resources and/or deliverables.

Role requirements

Essential:

  • More than 5 years of experience delivering transformational projects across all lifecycle phases.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
  • High level of curiosity and investigative mindset with an attention to detail. , The flexibility to adapt to new challenges and the resilience to overcome short-term hurdles by staying focused on the deliverables.
  • Ability to quickly familiarize with a big variety of themes.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management. This includes communicating clearly and confidently at all levels; adapting style and content to the audience's needs.
  • Proactively building productive relationships with internal and external partners; presenting robust and convincing arguments in the face of challenges while remaining respectful of other's views; negotiating effectively to agree on realistic outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to see patterns and connections.
  • Ability to remain calm, effective and positive under pressure and take ownership of delivering outcomes.
  • Active listening and summarising to build a shared understanding.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken). Any additional European language is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Desirable:

  • Experience within an insurance company
  • Certified Green Belt Lean Six Sigma
  • Proficient experience with PowerBI
  • Proficient experience with Power Automate
