Senior Manager, Customer Segmentation Analytics

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Customer Segmentation Analytics to join Equinix's Revenue Operations Go-To-Market (GTM) Insights & Analytics (IA) team. In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead the transformation of our customer segmentation, tiering, and targeting methods into a cohesive enterprise model. Leading a skilled team, you'll use advanced data-driven techniques like descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analysis, customer lifetime value/journey assessment, needs-based segmentation, and customer intent scoring. This will enable us to gain deeper insights into customer behavior and preferences, facilitating the delivery of exceptional customer experiences through proactive customer care and success engagement, and fine-tune revenue-generating GTM and route-to-market strategies. 

Responsibilities

Analytics Strategy

  • Defines and communicates vision for analytics and analytics priorities, ensuring alignment with business unit priorities and IT's commitment

Data Definitions & Integrity

  • Confirms data definitions with key stakeholders (including global and regional functional leads, Finance, IT and other functions)
  • Coordinates with the business unit to fix identified data integrity and inconsistency issues

Tool Selection and Development

  • Consults with senior management and external subject matter experts to determine next set of analytics that require automation, and identify tools for an automated analytics platform
  • Partners with:
  • Business unit SME's to determine data requirements/constraints
  • Information Technology for support and resources Reporting
  • May supervise compiling and production of executive E-staff level scheduled reports such as quarterly workforce reports

Data Analysis

  • Mines data for patterns, relationships, issues and consistency on a regular basis

Business Planning/Recommendations

  • Uses insights from data mining exercise to build advanced analytics reports like org planning, cost analysis, predictive analytics along with implication of data and potential issues (advanced predictive and prescriptive)

Client and Stakeholder Management

  • Builds relationships and partners with stakeholders (i.e. IT, Finance, business leaders) to understand requests, make recommendations and implement solutions
  • Coaches client group to present data and insights to business leaders for better adoption and use of insights

Thought Leadership

  • Brings value to each ask and provides thought leadership and forward thinking analytics that would have a stronger business impact
  • Provides support and development for Analysts

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant Segmentation Analytics experience
  • Advanced Analytical Skills and Expertise in Data Analysis Tools: Strong analytical skills with expertise in customer segmentation, tiering and targeting analytics. Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques. Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python, or similar statistical software. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop segmentation, tiering, and customer targeting strategies aligned with business objectives and market dynamics. Re-imagine current segmentation and tiering approaches into a single enterprise-wide model based on historical spend and future propensity and Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV)
  • Experience with Customer Segmentation: Previous experience in developing and implementing customer segmentation strategies, including market segmentation, behavioral segmentation, and persona sales and marketing personalization development
  • Knowledge of CRM Systems: Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Gainsight, etc., and their use in customer segmentation, tiering and targeting delivery
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business concepts and metrics related to customer acquisition, retention, and CLTV. Ability to translate analytical insights into actionable business recommendations
  • Leadership and Team Management: Experience leading and managing small/specialized teams. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, including presenting complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement in segmentation and targeting strategies through data-driven insights
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in relevant industries such as cloud computing, software, or IT services, providing domain-specific knowledge and insights with subscription and pay-as-you-go IT/technology GTM/RTM
  • Data center, interconnection & digital infrastructure services market experience is desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrated success in promoting collaboration, driving innovation, and fostering continuous improvement
  • Understanding of B2B platform & ecosystem business models and their distinct approaches to leveraging networks and interactions for value creation
  • A good understanding of GTM business strategies and a customer-centric focus
  • A strategic mindset for aligning efforts with business objectives 
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics/Administration, Economics/Econometrics, Computer Science, IT, or similar). Optional: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) certification
  • Experience with Excel, SAS, SPSS, Python, R, ANOVA, MATLAB, Tableau, ESRI, Power Bi, Salesforce, Clari, AI/ML tooling & scripting
