Job Description 

IST621: Information and technology management overview with a focus on digital transformation. How information and technology managers can create organizational, technological, and personal capabilities to succeed in a rapidly changing digital world. The course is designed to help the student be aware of what happens when digital transformation and the organization collide. Students will learn a number of models for diagnosing and implementing change situations that should prove valuable in their work situations, whether policy, systems development, business IT, government, or libraries.

After taking this course, students will be able to:

  • Communicate how technology and organizations adapt to each other when facing rapid digital transformation
  • Identify and discuss key concepts and theories relating to information, change, and digital transformation
  • Apply models to diagnose and solve digital transformation problems
  • Ethically apply skills associated with different types of information and change management

QualificationsMS in Information Management or Library Science. Work experience overseeing technology, operations, finance and human resources teams, as well as experience with business plan development.

Responsibilities 

Successful candidates will be prepared to serve as instructor and mentor and be willing to work with the Professor of Record, Program Director, and other instructors teaching this class. This course has a developed syllabus, exercises, and texts, however, we seek individuals who can bring their own experiences to the course.

  • Collaborate with professor of record and/or program director, who is responsible for creating the course syllabus and course content, as well as providing an overview of their overall vision for the course.
  • Attend onboarding and training with the iSchool’s Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning
  • Maintain office hours and open communication with students.
  • Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner; provide feedback when appropriate.
  • Prepare for a weekly 90 minute class session with students.
  • Prepare to offer the class in the Summer 2024 online quarter term.
