We are currently seeking an EMEA Service NPDI & Tech Support Engineer, AC Power to join our dynamic team in Bologna, Italy!

The NPDI and Tech Support Engineer will play a key role in developing new AC Power service products, ensuring they meet safety, serviceability, and business goals. Collaborating with global technical leads, they'll ensure consistency in execution and service readiness for new product releases. As part of the EMEA Service Tech Support team, they'll provide technical guidance and support during product introductions, acting as a liaison between internal service and engineering teams for efficient customer case resolution and product improvement.

What kind of work will you be doing?

  • Represent Vertiv Services EMEA in new product development design introduction process and product reviews
  • Interface with R&D engineering and product management to apply Global Serviceability Specifications
  • Provide technical guidance for Service Offering development and Scope of Work documents
  • Collect gate deliverables to support project readiness and completion
  • Collaborate with global engineering and product management to implement serviceability specifications
  • Assist in designing and testing new products to ensure service readiness
  • Develop source material for beta training classes, maintenance procedures, and TKO tech documentation
  • Attend new equipment startups to gather feedback and monitor new product launch issues
  • Provide support to Logistics for parts research, spare kits, and parts sourcing
  • Review ECN and develop Service Tips, Field Change Notices, and Safety Bulletins
  • Document new tooling or test equipment requirements

As part of the AC Power Service EMEA Tech Support team, responsibilities include:

  • Providing on-site Technical Assistance as needed;
  • Collaborating with various departments (e.g., Quality, R&D, Production) to enhance field support and report issues for product improvement;
  • Contributing to the dissemination of technical knowledge within the Service Organization through short trainings and technical forums;
  • Managing activities in compliance with ITC and EU environmental regulations and local standards.

What will make you successful?

  • Minimum educational background: Bachelor University or Secondary school diploma with experience are equivalent, in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Fluent written and spoken English, with knowledge of technical language relevant to the product application business.
  • 4+ years of experience in Power Electronic AC Power (UPS) or similar technologies, demonstrating a high level of technical understanding.
  • Ability to write technical reports in English and proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
  • Commitment to ongoing product training and completion of the C2 Vertiv Safety course.
  • Strong communication skills, self-organization, flexibility, and capability to manage short-term visits and travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Drive, self-motivation, customer orientation, and the ability to handle potentially stressful situations.
