As a Lead Developer at Experian, you’ll work in one of our business areas, gain exposure to our exciting work and help to develop products for the future. Purpose You will be responsible for leading the design and development of one of our platforms, using the full Microsoft stack, specialising in C# .NET web applications and Azure technologies. We use a wide variety of testing and quality techniques, and our services are pushed through our environments using a combination of BitBucket for source control and Jenkins (DevOps) for build, test and release. You will be using the latest cloud technologies to maintain and develop multi-tenant cloud services in an agile DevOps team and will play a key role in all stages of the software development lifecycle from architecture and requirement gathering to ensuring testing and deployment is done to the highest quality. You will ensure the development team is compliant with our policies and high standards that puts security and data protection at the heart of everything we do, achieving this by following best practice approaches to analysis, design, coding, testing, configuration management, change management and environment management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Roles and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, combining good communication skills with strong analytical problem-solving skills, to support clients in achieving their goals with existing and new applications. Additionally, the candidate will • Support existing applications through communication with service managers, solving production issues across a broad range of technologies and servers. • Be responsible for implementing and maintaining the required security polices for the applications managed by the database applications team. • Actively participate in team problem solving discussions, to assist the team with any current technical problems. • Document and deploy changes to applications on production servers, ensuring all required authorisations and documentation have been completed prior to change. • Strong Experience delivering cloud-native Services and Applications • Strong experience working in a Continuous Delivery cycle • Working in a microservices architecture • Implemented and used a variety of automated testing approaches and techniques

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Technical Skills: • We expect you to have strong experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of building mission-critical, high-volume transaction microservices / web-based software systems, preferably in regulated environments (finance and insurance industries). • Strong C# and Experience delivering cloud-native Services and Applications • .NET Framework experience, ideally with .NET Core 6 or 8 exposure • You will have extensive knowledge of the following technologies and software engineering best practices: o Architecture Design o Microservice Architecture o Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) o SOLID Principles o Software Design Patterns like Adapter, Decorator, Facade and Factory patterns. o Test-Driven Development (xUnit.Net) o Open API / Swagger o Source Code Management tools (Git, Bitbucket) o RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Web API (.NET Core) o .Net Core containerisation
