This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for an Associate Strategic Insights & Business/Corporate Development Analyst.

This analyst position offers the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the commercial vehicle industry while supporting our Strategic Insights and Corporate/Business Development Teams. This role incorporates researching the commercial vehicle industry, competition, emerging technologies, supporting mergers & acquisitions activity (including financial valuation support), and other external factors affecting Allison Transmission.

This is a supporting role that offers exposure to all business functions within Allison and with that, the potential to grow personally and professionally within the organization. This access will expand your technical and industry knowledge and will challenge you to understand how Allison fits and strategically positions itself within that competitive landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Allison Intelligence Portal (our centralized information hub and repository for all industry, competitor, customer and product news, intelligence, and reports). Portal allows Allison functional leaders and experts to discern insights from a variety of external factors and influences.
• Support the Corporate Development target list CRM platform (DealRoom) including loading critical information and ensuring proper channels within Allison have access and updates related to information housed within this tool.
• Actively manages Business and Corporate Development Teams sites as well as track target list candidates, banker contacts, and archive banker materials.
• Supports Allison Corporate and Business Development activities with research, analysis, and insights around commercial vehicle-related areas of focus.
• Lead analyst supporting Corporate Development financial valuation assessments. Leverage target modelling metrics to compare/contrast M&A candidates.
• Monitor information sources and industry announcements / reports for key information (e.g. market dynamics, regulatory developments, etc.) and helps develop useful, actionable assessments and recommendations as appropriate.
• Assist in the research and development of competitor profiles, business development information packets, and targeted industry reports
• Attends industry related trade shows as necessary; assisting in the collection and distribution of competitor, industry and external forces information
• Coordinates and distributes external subscriptions, reports and newsletters as required
• Responds to spontaneous or directed internal requests for competitor information

Key Performance Measures

• Allison Intelligence Portal updated and maintained daily, including articles and user administration
• Dealflow tool updated and maintained regularly, including pushing out any key information to relevant internal customers; coordinated with Director, Corporate Development
• Ongoing research and reporting in support of Corporate Development, Strategy, and/or Senior Leadership initiatives
• Financial support of target evaluations – coordinated with the Director, Corporate Development

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor Degree in Business required (Finance preferred)
• Naturally inquisitive. Has a want to learn and enjoys research mentality.
• Likes the pursuit of connecting seemingly unrelated information and synthesizing insight(s)
• Ability to organize, prioritize and plan effectively
• Displays good judgment with sensitive information
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products

Preferred

• Experience in commercial vehicle business or industry
• Equally capable and comfortable working independently and in teams
• Working knowledge of CRM databases and the internet, gathering and archiving information.

Experience

• 0-2 yrs equivalent experience as outlined in Qualifications.
• Financial valuation modelling
• General understanding of Sales, Marketing and Engineering functional roles and responsibilities.

Scope Factors

• Manage complex research projects of a technical or informational nature
• Expected interaction with 3rd party customers such as bankers, consultants or prospective target companies

Travel Requirements

• Occasional travel domestically or internationally
